Hajj is one of the best forms of worship and is one of the most sublime acts and one of the greatest pillars of Islam, which Allah sent through Muhammad .
Without Hajj, the religion of His servants is incomplete.
- A form of worship is only acceptable if the following conditions are true:
- May it be dedicated to Allah, with the longing for life after death.
- It cannot be practiced with the intention of being seen by men or receiving material gains.
When the example of the Prophet, in word and deed, is followed, which can only be achieved with knowledge of the Sunnah.
- Forms of Pilgrimage
- Types of Hajj
- Tamattu’
- The pilgrim wears Ihram for Umrah only during the months of Hajj, i.e. when he reaches Mecca, performs Tawaf and Sa’i for Umrah.
Then shave or tie your hair.
On the day of Tarwiya, which is the 8th of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, he wears his Ihram only for Hajj and performs all its rituals.
Ifraad
The pilgrim wears Ihram only for Hajj.
When he reaches Mecca, he performs Tawaf on arrival and Sa’i on Hajj.
He does not shave or tie his hair, as he has not yet removed Ihram.
Rather, he remains in Ihram even after throwing the stones at Jamrah Al-Aqaba on the day of Eid.
He may postpone He is permitted to postpone the Sa’i for Hajj until after his Tawaf.
Qiran
The pilgrim either wears Ihram for both Umrah and Hajj, or he wears Ihram first for Umrah and then intends Hajj before his Tawaf for Hajj.
The obligations of the one who performs Ifraad are the same as those of the one who performs Qiran, except that the latter must sacrifice an animal while the former is not obliged to do so.
This is the way the Prophet guided his followers.
Even if the pilgrim intends to do Qiran or Ifraad, he is permitted to change his intentions to –‘, even if he has done Tawaf and Sa’i.
Both umrah and hajj can be performed by the local umrah agency and by agents. When the Prophet performed Tawaf and Sai with his Companions in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, he ordered all those who had sacrificed animals to change their intentions from Hajj to the intention of Umrah, to cut their hair and to take off Ihram until Hajj.
He said, “If I had not brought the animal for sacrifice I would have done what I commanded you.”
The Umrah
If, from a ritual point of view, the pilgrim wants to remain pure for Umrah, he must take off his clothes and bathe as he does after sexual intercourse, if appropriate.
There is no harm if something remains after Ihram.
Bathing for Ihram is Sunnah for both men and women, including those who are menstruating or in the postpartum period.
After bathing and getting ready, the pilgrim, unlike a menstruating woman or a woman undergoing confinement, says the obligatory prayer if it is time.
Otherwise, he intends to do the two rak’ahs prescribed in the Sunnah, which are done every time Wudoo is done.
When he has finished his prayer, he should say: “Here I am for Umrah, here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner. Here I am. Surely all praise, forgiveness and sovereignty are Yours, and You have no partner.” (known as the talbiyah).
The man raises his voice as he says these words and the woman says them in such a way that only the person next to her can hear them.
One who is in Ihram should say the talbiyah as much as possible, especially when the places and periods change.
For example, when going up or down during the journey by an umrah service provider, or when day or night approaches.
He should also pray to Allah for His pleasure, for Heaven and seek protection in Allah’s mercy from Hell.
One should say the talbiyah during Umrah, starting from the moment he puts on his Ihram until he begins Tawaf (around the Kaaba).
During Hajj, one should say this, starting from the moment he puts on his Ihram until he starts throwing stones in Jamratul-Aqabah on the day of ‘Eid.
When the pilgrim enters the Sacred Mosque, he should place his right foot first and say:
“In the name of God, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive my sins and open for me the doors of Your mercy. I seek refuge in Allah, the Almighty, and in His Noble Face and in His Eternal Sovereignty from the accursed Satan.”
Then he approaches the Black Stone, touches it with his right hand and kisses it.
If this is not possible, he should look the Black Stone in the face and point at it.
It is better not to push, avoid hurting people or being hurt by them.
When touching the Stone (or pointing to it) the pilgrim must say the following:
“In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest (Bismillah, Allahu Akbar). O Allah, with faith in You, belief in Your Book, loyalty to You, submission to the way of Your Prophet Muhammad ”
The pilgrim should walk with the Kaaba on his left.
When he reaches the Rukn al-Yamani (the Yamani Corner), he should touch it (if he can) but not kiss it, and say:
“Our Allah, grant us good in this life and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Hell. O Allah, I ask for Your forgiveness and health in this life and in the Hereafter.”
Every time he passes the Black Stone, he should say: “Allah is the Greatest (Allahu Akbar).”
During the remainder of his Tawaf, he may say whatever supplications please him, make remembrance of Allah and recite the Quran.
This is because Tawaf, Sa’i and the stones of Jamrah were ordered for the purpose of remembrance of Allah.
